1. Remo

Situated in the center of the Testaccio district, the Remo offers the greatest Roman atmosphere and the best authentic pizza in town. Its popularity is also due to its large thin-crust pie with topping selections, and the classic Romano. If you want to enjoy the locals’ lifestyle on the street, pick a table outdoor. Make sure you are early or you have to wait in line.

The restaurant has been famed for its fantastic ice cream which you can’t find any better dessert in anywhere. The most famous and recommended menu of the Tre Scalini is tartufo, a creamy ice cream along with chocolate, cherries and whipped cream. It’s your choice to dine in or take away!

3. II Matriciano

The II Matriciano is a real tradition Roman eatery which is regularly visited by a number of customers especially in summer when the sidewalk tables are perfect for chilling and dining. Although the restaurant is petit, it serves ultimate dishes such as zuppa di verdura (vegetable soup), bucatini all’Amatriciana (a delicious sauce of tomatoes, basil and bacon) and a wide variety of pasta.

4. Colline Emiliane

Colline Emiliane is a miniature eatery featuring cozy atmosphere and impeccable service. Also, it’s the terrific place to hide from hustle and bustle of the streets in the City of Rome. The restaurant features a huge range of excellent dishes like homemade pasta, Tortellini in brodo (tortellini in broth) and ravioli di zucca (pumpkin ravioli)

5. Sabatini

Sabatini is always busy with loaded customers who fancy the restaurant’s typical Roman dishes - sea bass, chicken with peppers, ravioli consommé, and spaghetti carbanara. This lovely eatery offers outdoors tables in the corner of Piazza Santa Maria which is very crowded for an entire day, thus do not be surprised if you will always see the Sabatini restaurants cluttered by folks.
